A Sunday Six-Pack
Editor's Note: Today’s article continues my twice-monthly-or-so practice of thanking my paid subscribers (and not-so-subtly encouraging upgrades). Behind the wall are a half dozen brief bits: The NYTimes “outing” Taylor Swift, the “long con” that Islamists are running on the West, the deceitfulness behind “renewable” energy, Trump’s promise to raise taxes on Americans, a present-day Malthusian, and the proper role of government.
Padding The Numbers
Did you hear the news? The New York Times recently ran an expansive - as in 4764 words - "analysis" that concluded Taylor Swift might be gay or bisexual. They based this "conclusion" on song lyrics, clothing choices, public statements, and other tea leaves. Swift's camp harshly rejected the "finding."
My liberal use of scare quotes tells you what I think of all this.
Why would they go to such efforts?
