False Freedom

The Free Press’s Suzy Weiss recently ran a story about a Mormon woman who has had nine children, and detailed some progressives’ responses to her life choices.

You should be able to guess some of them.

They reveal a well-established irony of the modern feminist movement. Purportedly about freedom, it’s actually a demand for conformity. Yes, you are to have freedom of choice, but if you make the wrong choice, you are not only wrong, but you are betraying the movement and your fellow women.

This is a natural result of the Left’s “you are your demographics” reductionism, which is itself a natural offshoot of socialism’s elevation of the group over the individual.
