In what has become routine to the point of banality, Joe Biden waxed histrionic at the recent SCOTUS decision affirming that Presidents have certain degrees of immunity from prosecution for official acts. "The end of Democracy," we are warned.
His mindless minions are echoing the hysteria, with assertions that, now, Biden could actually order Seal Team Six to murder Trump, among other things.
All this is classic psychological projection and attempts at deflection from his own imperial ways.
Biden has run roughshod over the separation of powers, has acted as imperially as any President I can recall, has openly thumbed his nose at the Court, has been "go ahead and stop me" in numerous actions, and on top of that has the nerve to assert that Trump will somehow become a dictator despite the entire Federal apparatus loathing him.
Just a smattering of his more brazen "King Joe" actions.
The Administration coerced private-sector companies to censor individuals' speech and to quash stories deemed politically inconvenient or problematic.
The Biden Justice Department repeatedly ignored Congressional subpoenas and obstructed investigations that would be inconvenient for the Administration. Meanwhile, it targeted broad categories of Americans who didn't lean Democratic for investigation and intimidation.
Biden coerced public employee, and tried to coerce millions in the private sector, to get COVID vaccines.
Biden ignored federal law in naming his stalled National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nominee as "acting" administrator.
Biden's eviction moratorium was a blatant violation of the Fifth Amendment's Takings Clause.
Biden attempted to cancel half a trillion dollars in student loans. He ignored the Court's rebuke, and is canceling loans piecemeal, bragging "The Supreme Court didn't stop me."
Biden "opened" the southern border via executive order and deliberate non-enforcement. He claimed an inability to do anything about it for three-plus years, and only recently realized that he had to pretend to do something with the election coming up. Meanwhile, he extended protections to half a million illegals via executive order.
Biden delayed weapon shipments to Israel that were authorized by Congress in order to pressure Israel into changing war plans and to appease his Left flank.
He has done all this with the blessing and support of a sycophantic Fourth Estate, a Democratic Party that has chucked all sense of propriety out the window in favor of its raw lust for power, a Justice Department that has abandoned any shred of impartiality, and a compliant and partisan Administrative State. It's quite easy to act as King when all the courtiers, nobles, and hangers-on are carrying your water.
This leads into a broader problem:
The Left abhors Big Money and government power when wielded by someone else, but absolutely loves it when it's from and by their own. This is evinced by complaints about "dark money" behind Supreme Court nominations and decisions (actual evidence of bias induced by such dark money is unnecessary), but nary a blip abou the money funding the BLM and pro-Hamas protests. The Right has its own double standards in this regard, as should be no surprise to anyone, and usually excuses it with "we have to fight fire with fire."
Problem is, no one benefits from unchecked government power apart from those who wield it and those who leverage it. The nation as a whole certainly doesn't, and never will, no matter how ardently the Thomas Friedman types wish "we could just be China for a day."
If you want to know someone's dirtiest inner desires, look at what they accuse others of doing or thinking. In the case of today's Left, it's a lust for unchecked government power.
He also appointed - through grandma Merrick Garland - Jack Smith as a special prosecutor from outside the federal government, in direct violation of the appointments clause, which requires Senate confirmation. Judge Cannon has dismissed the "documents" case, and that's probably GOOD for Biden that she did, on the grounds of the improper appointment. Because had that case proceeded, Dictator Joe's filthy handprints would have been seen all over the improperly obtained and executed (presidential immunity wasn't even considered) seizure warrant for an ongoing administrative dispute which had already produced "most" of the documents disputed. The continuing case would also have only highlighted the stark difference in circumstances of "Trump's documents" as a former president, and "Biden's documents" stolen when he was a senator and vice president (i.e., no immunity) which were arguably proffered illegally for personal gain (there's AT LEAST the "book deal" if not all the Hunter "pay for play" violations) - which goes to the very definition of espionage under federal law.
But the truth is "King Biden" is virtually untouchable by a federal bureaucracy that is sympathetic to his politics and a Congress which dare not impeach the Emperor, lest they trigger a sympathy vote among the troubled masses living under his tyranny.
And this was likely posted before Biden declared he was going to impose limits on SCOTUS term limits and other such nonsense. Separation of powers be damned.
