Schumer is the senior senator from New York and the Democrats' Senate Majority/Minority Leader since 2017, and the joke refers to his reputation as a notorious media hound and political firebrand (arsonist?). The gag lends itself to co-opting, and today I apply it to another New York politician: accidental Governor Kathy Hochul.
In this application, the 'most dangerous place' is between Hochul and your wallet, as most recently evinced by the $9 per day congestion toll/fee/tax she imposed on anyone driving into Manhattan below 60th street. Met with wide outrage from everyone but OPM politicians and the wealthy who desire a car-free Manhattan, this is a regressive tax that will do the most harm to those who can least afford it.
