I had an Internet exchange the other day with someone who could not come to terms with my asserting that, in a binary choice between Trump and Harris, I’d rather Trump. He went on and on about how terrible a person is, and didn’t bother responding to my view that Harris would not only be worse on policy, she has shown herself to be, from my vantage point, a terrible person.
The conversation ended when my counterpart “read my mind” and concluded that I wasn’t being honest in my shilling for Trump, either to everyone who read my stuff or to myself. He insisted that I admit I was a fan rather than put forth the pragmatic argument I repeated time and again.
Rather than accuse him of TDS, I stepped away from the exchange.
All that happened before I could dive into Harris herself, and why I currently conclude that she’s not only going to be a disaster for the nation policy-wise, she is also a bad person. Today’s post is my first draft of what will be a running list of points supporting both conclusions. Yes, it’s paywalled - this one’s for the paid subscribers.
