The French are notorious for burning cars as a political statement. Whenever union contracts are up for renegotiation, cars all over the country are torched, often as a prelude to those discussions. I've found it both disheartening and amusing, the latter because it's part of their culture and not ours.
No more, it seems. Because Elon Musk had the temerity to side with Donald Trump over Kamala Harris, and to bring the expertise he manages so well to the seemingly impossible problem of government excess, people who once loved how his efforts were good for the environment are now protesting him. By defacing, vandalizing, and burning Teslas.
