If you are of my general age, you are likely to think of the 1990s as 'not that long ago.' Math begs to differ, however, and I was reminded of the growing chasm between today and the decade where I lived my latter 20s and early 30s when I googled the origin of the word "Frankenfood."
Yes, indeed, a term that was gleefully seized upon by the anti-GMO crowd first entered the lexicon in 1992. It served as a splendid example of how successful marketing can sway public opinion against fact and evidence, and in this case with tragic results.
