The Left Invents Issues to Gain Power

How can we counter it?

On another forum, a friend asked me what we in America can do to counter the Left’s modus operandi of fabricating issues in order to obtain ever more power. Years ago, I’d begun a project of formulating what I hoped would be a guide to accomplishing that very thing, so I summarized it for my friend. I should note that to succeed in such an effort would mean nothing less than to save America. First, though, some background is necessary.

The Left is interested in taking and keeping total power, so the best approach to address that menace is to focus on all aspects of their effort. That’s what I’ve tried to do here with this summary. But... and it’s a big one: it’s not enough merely to stop the Left’s Long March through our nation and its institutions, we must also roll back their putrescent encrustations on the vast American ship of state.

There’s good news in that regard, and it can be seen in the late, unlamented “Disinformation Governance Board.” The, more correctly nicknamed, “Ministry of Truth” from Orwell. If that monstrosity had been allowed to continue, then it would have done exactly as all such grotesqueries do and set about to agglomerate power and influence to itself. You eliminate all that horrible stuff by ending the board itself.

To extend this to a practical example: a very good thing indeed would be to abolish the Department of Education. If you were to do that, then you’d also arrest the national effort to impose Critical Race Theory on our nation’s children. You’d also solve the push to indoctrinate our nation’s children in all manner of sexual and gender weirdisms. For the people who want such things, let them implement them in their own states, where they have to live next to the people on whom they’re imposing these oddball and often deeply harmful ideas.

So, without further background, here are some ideas that made it into what I hope is a good plan to save America, the greatest, most generous, biggest-hearted, freest, least oppressive nation that’s ever been. From a geopolitical/socio-historical perspective, the United States of America is, by far and away, the greatest thing to happen to the world and all its inhabitants, in its more than four-billion-year existence. — AM

The Left has long used the tactic of the fabricated issue, and the passions stirred in the supposedly oppressed populations who are the subjects of these issues. Oh, generally there's a nub of truth to the issue, but far more frequently that nub was resolved long, long ago, and the issue today consists of imaginary affronts ginned up in the fever swamps of the leftist imagination. This is true for the simultaneous hysterias running rampant today in the realms of race, sex, gender, male-female relations and others. So, how should we go about defeating this corrosive tendency, as defeat it we surely must?

Well, it's important to recognize that such an enterprise will be very much a multi-pronged effort. First and foremost, of course, we must get courageous Conservative/Libertarian voices into positions of power, authority and influence in America.

1. Fearlessly refuse to allow The Left, and their political arm, the Dem. Party to control the narrative. Example: There are White Supremacists; there are White nationalists, but only a teeny-tiny number of them. You could fit them all into a 1960’s Volkswagen van. It’s a fabricated issue. Flip it: point out that there are far more Race Supremacists who are non-white. Hammer that home. It's not difficult to find them. Ibram Kendi, Nina Jankowicz, et al are all over the place in academia and Congress, in Hollywood and pop culture. They abound in social media.

2. Denounce leftist fictions as lies that are all part of The Big Lie. Look, Hitler came to power using The Big Lie as a tool. Just because Hitler was utterly defeated does not mean that the tactics he employed to seize power were invalidated, they weren't. The American Left was smart enough to see the way the Nazis goose-stepped their way through the German institutions of the day and took power in a very short time. They have adopted those tactics.

3. Call out the Left for its rhetorical abuses. Loudly and frequently. The constant racism charge coming from the Left is obscene. In no way should you and I tolerate the accusation. Ever. It's the rhetorical equivalent of a social lynching, and we cannot ever tolerate it. Beat it back. Sneer at it. Mock it. Denounce it for what it is: an admission that the one making the accusation doesn’t have a real argument.

4. They're relentless; we need to be relentless too. At no time should we tolerate what we know to be outrageous behavior and speech on their part. Never allow a false or slanderous accusation to stand without sneering at the stupidity of it. Never fear to say something like, “What a stupid thing to say! I hope you’re going to bring up your end of this, or I’m going to have it easy here.”

5. Their policies hurt and kill people, and I'm not talking only about abortion, though that's another example. Why haven't we relentlessly hung the condition of America's cities around their necks? All of them. Not just Gavin Newsom, governor of California, but Eric Garcetti (Los Angeles); Eric Adams (New York); Brandon Scott (Baltimore); Mike Duggan (Detroit); Lori Lightfoot; the mayors of Portland, Oregon; Seattle, Washington; Hartford, CT, and so many more that are now killing fields for our black brothers and sisters.

6. In short... we need to take the offensive, and to rock them back on their heels. There's plenty of material for that. Part of this will be to unleash on them the same level of scorn that they regularly dish out on Conservatives and those in the GOP. Why, for instance, is AOC not a laughingstock? Ask that question. Loudly, publicly and frequently.
   
   It's against the rules of Congress to ask that question directly in Congress. Ask it obliquely in the media. Point out that, "There are some complete nut jobs on the other side of the aisle. I'll leave it to your imagination to guess who, but the moronic things these people say should make of them laughingstocks everywhere. If the press weren't corrupt and incompetent, these half-wits would be laughingstocks." Or the like.
   
   Will the Left whine that, "We're under attack!" Yes, they will. Cheerfully, shoot back, "That's because you're under attack. But the only real danger is to your massive egos (always use the plural to avoid offending a specific one), and Americans' eyes might be opened."
   
   An important point is that we need to be rid of these idiots from the halls of power in the United States! That won't happen with polite, genteel words and fair fighting! Here's a summary of one of the gravest problems facing our nation today: The Left has brought to the forefront the worst, the stupidest, the most extreme, the least rational, the least hinged, the loudest among their ranks. We need to demand that the Left do better, because America needs a rational, engaged, intelligent opposition.

7. We need pithy, catchy phrases that tell the truth. Things like: "If the media were to be merely honest, nothing more, the Democrats would lose their electoral viability overnight." Or: "What has the government done to earn the money we've already given them, much less any more?" And so on. A new one every day. A barrage of them. Will they whine that, "We're under attack!" again? Yes, they will. And they should be, and we should remind them of that. All the while smiling sweetly.

8. Every movement has its eccentrics and cranks, and ours is no exception. The real problem, though, is that the Left has expelled from their midst anyone who's not a wack-job. We need to be able to say that... loudly and frequently. And we need to point it out. Our MO needs to be to make our movement uncongenial to the cranks. To do that, we'd use, of course, denunciations of “crank think.” (<-- My coinage... I like it!) That’ll get two birds: It'll expose the Left entirely, and it'll discourage cranks within our own ranks.

9. We need to launch our own Long March back through the institutions of America. The very good news is that this will be easy. First, let’s understand that we don't have to take any institution entirely back, nor should we even want to. We need only 1/4 to 1/2 of the institution. With mass communications the way it is now, we can do this in a few very short years.

10. A permanent and evolving "Contract with America" detailing the top Conservative priorities for when we have the power to effect change. At the top of the list should always be a steady, significant rollback of regulation and central government power. Aggressively. If you defang the beast, the beast can't bite you.

11. Immediately defund monstrosities like the "Disinformation Governance Board." I know, I know... it's disbanded, but it'll come back as something else. Get rid of that ruthlessly and totally. Let them reconstitute the obscene mess when next they retake power. We need to get rid of any and all such Soviet-style monstrosities that might be around.

12. We must stop being namby pamby and we must embrace the fact that we're in a struggle to save America. Part of that will be for the nation to live up to one of its most sacred ideals: free speech. Whether we like it or not, the only way to speak to all of America today is via social media. There can be no censorship of Conservative thought on those various platforms. Period. None.
    
    More good news: The Left knows that if we accomplish only #12, then their movement is doomed, as the fight will then be fair, and their brainless nonsensicalities will be exposed for the howlers they are.
    
    This is the reason for the furious assault on Elon Musk in his attempt to take over Twitter. Free speech is the nightmare scenario for the Left. Why? Simple: Free Speech is the single most progressive, revolutionary concept to emerge from Western Civilization. It’s to free speech, after all, that every other freedom owes is existence. And without it, all other freedoms are doomed.
    
    Real progress, real progressiveness, always moves toward greater freedom and power for the people. No exception.
    
    Despite the way they label themselves, the American and international Left are the least progressive, the most reactionary, regressive forces in world politics today. For that reason alone, no far-left, or even moderately leftish, movement or country ever allows, nor ever can allow, unfettered speech anywhere near its ranks or borders.

13. Finally, last but not least, let’s tell the truth. Let’s speak plainly. Let’s call things like they are. That’s the opposite of what leftists do, and they won’t know how to deal with it, because they don’t deal with it in their own lives. So: People who want to “educate” children on sexual and gender matters are perverts. Groomers, yes, but groomers are perverts. They’re child molesters too. Tell the truth; call them these things.

We need to have the courage and integrity to, simply, tell the truth. Each issue has such a truth, or many such truths, hidden in plain sight. Truths that we’re reluctant to tell the world, because we worry that we’ll hurt people’s feelings.

Want one more example? Okay: The Dems have owned American cities for decades, and those cities are killing fields for black Americans. Call top Democrats: “murderers.” Why not? They are, after all. What would you call killers of black people if they just keep doing it? Yep, you guessed it: Serial killers. Call them that, and do it with a contemptuous sneer. Tell me, how has Lori Lightfoot, mayor of Chicago evaded this label? Serious question. Are people valuable or not? They’re dying out there! By the thousands over recent years. The sooner we make the killers stop using government power to kill people the better.

We need to stop being worried about insulting Democrats. Their policies in American cities kill people! To hell with decorum! The truth shall set you free! And it'll stop the violence in the cities.

That'll do for a start. There're a lot more, but for now these 13 would make for a good beginning.
