Over on the other side of the Pond, Europeans finally said "enough!" to the Best-and-Brightest that had abandoned "public service" in favor of "management of the masses." Center-right and "far-right" factions made gains in the EU Parliament elections that took place a couple days ago, with voters sending a message that they were unhappy on matters such as migration, climate change, Ukraine, and more.
Naturally, the usual suspects made sure to remind us that the gains were on the "far-Right," presumably to induce suspicion and revulsion (and reinforce the message that, if you aren't on the Left, you're a racist). But, those usual suspects are pretty much only talking to themselves nowadays, with skepticism of the legacy media's integrity growing every day. With the Washington Post hemorrhaging money, and even the venerable Wall Street Journal being led astray by its new editor-in-chief, people simply don't trust mainstream news any more.
This is just deserts for the press, but it's a problem for the rest of us. We need a Press that tells us what's going on and that has an adversarial relationship with government, not a Press that has opted to carry water for one or the other political team.
