An anagram of TDS is STD, notwithstanding that Jessica Tarlov now tells us we should refer to it as STI. Tertiary syphilis, aka paresis, is characterized by a Swiss-cheesing of the brain, and results in behavior such as Al Capone sitting by his swimming pool in his PJs with a fishing pole dangling into the water in the vain hope of catching fish. In a paradoxical reversal, I suspect victims of TDS were predisposed to it by already having Swiss-cheesed brains. 🤗
my fearless governor, slightly less fat JB Pritzker, is a living example of this. every single one of his Twitter posts mentions Bad Orange Man. It's comical in its sadness.
I get it for such as him. It's red meat to his constituency. It keeps them riled up, keeps them from thinking straight and seeing the problems he has created or hasn't solved.
In a healthy republic, Donald Trump would have neither run for office nor been elected. Let's start there. His election is owed to enough people being fed up with the DC cartel prioritizing donors over constituents that they took a chance on someone from outside the system. That's the truth. Trump 1.0 more or less lived up to those voters' expectations and those voters saw that his own party was often just as hostile to change as the opposition. Trump 2.0 has veered off the path a bit by mirroring what he once opposed, but he retains support because the alternative is just that bad.
I must love freedom and liberty more than post-2016 “Republicans.”
Don’t forget the “Republican” embrace of socialism, too, while having hissy fits about “cOmMuniSm!”

The Trump Team obviously gets this and exploits it to their benefit. Knowing what the enemy will do - well, there's an advantage to that.

Sure, but two things. 1 - this post isn't about Trump. 2 - he's not up for re-election.
Kudos…one of your very best. Thank you.
I have long thought of TDS as a lazy diversion.
