What's behind the wall? A look at one of my all-time favorite movies (not Jaws) and how it demonstrates the awfulness and hollowness of today’s preach-the-Woke movies.
Hollywood's current obsession with identity quotas and rainbow casting has produced a pile of dreck tall enough to dwarf Mount Everest (the ascent of which is, I am sure, considered the pinnacle (pun intended) of white privilege and exploitation of oppressed minorities). The studios, caught in a Catch-22 of their own making, seem to be desperately casting about for some way to actually make money again. Thus, we see classic tales recast to fit progressive ideas of diversity and modern character types.
While Youtube-surfing the other day, I caught this clip from one of my favorite movie reviewers, The Critical Drinker. It is a mea culpa regarding the movie Jaws, wherein he admitted his error in relegating it to the horror movie dustbin after re-watching it for the first time in decades. His review offered me a blog-spiration - what would a present-day remake of Jaws look like?
