Unburdening From What Has Worked
Kamala Harris's signature aphorism, "What can be, unburdened by what has been," has been long mocked as one of her many tossings of word salad, and I've been as guilty as many others in treating it as just empty blather. It carried the same strain of vacuity as Obama's "We are the ones we have been waiting for."
A meme that has recently made the rounds prompted me to ponder what she might mean by and intend with this phrase. And, hoo-doggie, did I find something sinister.
