What you're seeing is who the Democrats actually are, who they always were, and would eventually be exposed as. Running as "moderates" for the past 100 years, they bargained for "half a loaf", which the feckless Republicans would always give them, in exchange for the incremental destruction of the Republic. We're now down at the one yard line and they're demanding what remains of the "loaf"....or "democracy itself is destroyed!" That's why "moderate" Democrats are rare as hens' teeth today - there's just no more room in their party for "moderates" - the stakes are all or nothing. That voters are "too dumb to see" the glorious benefits of what they're selling (paraphrasing Hillary here) is a tell. But the voters who actually have to live in this world see all too well where this is headed. They've seen the destruction and corruption that results from this path - we're all Venezuelans now and Biden is just a cheap knock off Maduro. I'm hopeful this election stands as a serious reset, but the American people already installed this idiocy once - they can do it again.

Willful blindness and self-delusion, obvious from day one of this administration. Immediately overturning the pipeline and immigration policies. Biden acted from the clearly false belief that he had a mandate, the joy of ridding the nation of Trump blinded him and his ilk to every other indicator in the election. His first actions were anti-Trump and nothing else. BTW “the gracelessness of Trump” resonated with me. So good Peter, as always zeroing in on the problems.

This crossed my path today. It makes the point I've been making for so long - that some people let Orange Man Bad be the sole determiner of their policy preferences.

Great article! The democratic party has become more the anti-Trump party.

It never fails to amaze me that Democrats tend to fall back on the notion that the party just didn't message their agenda properly, ie the populace wasn't smart enough to understand the topics. Such arrogance.
