Editor’s Note: Sunday posts are usually paywalled, but I ran last Sunday and today as free posts, ahead of what I consider a highly consequential election.
The scariest words ever - I’m from the government and I’m here to help! 😵💫😵💫😵💫 Kamalama Ding Dong is unburdened by any hint of intellectual acuity. In her world, she can issue an executive order that makes inflation disappear, though she won’t do that unless promoted from VPOTUS to POTUS. 🤔🤔 Listening to her can cause brain damage, as one tries unsuccessfully to translate her word salads into coherent communications.
It is terrifying that our society is so intellectually inept that tens of millions of people will vote to make this woman the most powerful person in the world. This is akin to putting your five year old behind the steering wheel and hoping for a successful road trip.
“Gun buy-backs, used by many "blue" cities in the hope of getting illegal guns off the street, routinely gather up garbage and inoperable firearms that have been gathering dust in attics and basements. Many turned in their junk, then took the money and bought new, working guns. One clever fella realized that he could sell 3D printed parts to New York via one of these buy-backs, and cashed out $21,000 before the beancounters caught on and changed the rules.”
Psst, hey, Congressman, I’ve got a monetary theory for you that says you can print as much money as you want and it won’t devalue the dollar or cause inflation. And, if you funnel some of that printed money into renewable energy you can create lots of constituent jobs that otherwise would have no reason for existence while reducing consumerism and population, a big win all the way around.
I've reread the sentence about the "hotels that served drink with the food they sold" several times and I think it needs editing. Great article. I wish more people understood the costs of "government help". They seem so obvious, especially in these times.
The cobra story is, from what I've gathered, more likely apocryphal than literal, but the phenomenon has been validated time and time again, and all one needs is the slightest understanding of human nature to "get it" even without empirical validation.

I’m hoping that this is 2016 all over again, that the polls are so skewed it’s a damn landslide.

Excellent Peter! My one new thing learned today was where "the cobra effect" came from. Very interesting

Another great one, Peter. I’ll share and pray that my friends and followers who need to read it, do so.
