In our modern culture, the biggest and most elaborate celebration of the year is, without a doubt, this monstrous holiday that goes by the name of "Christmas." And without fail, every year there will be fights and arguments and controversy over what this celebration is
An interesting collection of observations, quite nicely demonstrative of the sad state of commercialization; narcissistic catering, and overall lifelessness that makes up the self-absorbed world.
A gaggle of urban simps, dangling from the hook of the predatory advertize-ratzi, buying-'joy'ing-giving-relishing as they belch forth credit to purchase more of what doesn't make them happy, nor can afford, but will do for those 'of the moment'.
Their views (and pedantics on Christmas) seem to be the very reason for:
Grim Reaper: Shut up, you American. You Americans, all you do is talk, and talk, and say "let me tell you something" and "I just wanna say." Well, you're dead now, so shut up.
"Meaning of Life -- Monty Python
There are those who experience faith, simple joy, and love at this time of year, gathering with those they call kin, to celebrate what they believe. Lets not wash that away with the wokie/advert bile.
I'd say God is still around, and only faith lets one grasp thats not just an opinion, fanciful belief, or deep concept. And so there remain those who don't honor; and perhaps pity those caught in and about the working of that 'monstrous holiday'. And without fail they will raise a glass to all of us, hope for better, try to do so; in their own way, and embrace what the celebration "is" all about.
I, for one, look forward to the gradually warmer days!
MerryChristmas!
Family, the joy of giving, and beautiful music are reasons enuf for me to enjoy Christmas.
Love it! Happy solstice!
