Love the Milton Friedman quote! Your columns are always thoughtful and informative, in an age where many so-called “Republican” politicians are no more than “Democrat Lite.”
Donahue was known for being a firebrand, but he actually listened to Friedman and responded to what Friedman said, rather than talking over him and blathering his agenda as just about every talking head does today. Today's could learn a lesson.
A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government. - Thomas Jefferson
Never disappointed by your keen insight and analysis. This false utopia that our democratic socialists endlessly pine & lobby for does not exist. And such a system , if enacted, would surely fail as their endgame to shackle the engine of Capitalism ( which ironically has likely been exactly that which has given them the freedom to even dream of such silliness. ) would ensure societal demise.

I am familiar with that exchange. More “Republicans” should watch it.

"Socializing capital is about as stupid an idea as there can be."
Government socializing capital is about as criminal a practise as there can be.
