ABC News recently reached a settlement with Donald Trump over a defamation suit regarding a false statement made by talking head George Stephanopoulous, who was and remains on ABC's payroll (and just got his contract renewed).
If "those legacy outfits are going the way of the buggy whip and the dodo bird." in large part it is because they have refused to practice any self-reflection or self-examination despite the lack of respect for them in this country. They continue to believe that it is the people who are wrong.
Time will tell but the threats made by Trump against different nations, the tariffs and a lot of not-ready-for-prime-time nominees on his part does not make me optimistic about the next four years.
So far, he's made two choices out of a great big pile that I question, and one (Gaetz) is already gone.
I think it quite refreshing that he hasn't picked "usual suspects," and gone for people who are less Beltway lizard and more outsider. We've seen how ineffective the "experts" have been in reining in our government, and the message was pretty clear this election that "business as usual" has been rejected.
I do wonder how his skeptics will react if he has some successes.
Nothing in your reply about his tariff plans and threats against other nations? Being an outsider is only a benefit if you're competent. I'm not as sanguine as you are about the majority of his nominees in that regards. "Business as usual" is highly underrated if the alternative is chaos. But, time will tell.
Yes. In this case you are wrong. I want Trump to be outrageously successful as he will be our President. And by the way, Merry Christmas and I am looking forward to another year of your thoughts.
You nailed it 🔨 👊

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I will wait and see what he does. History has told us not to take him too literally.
Frankly, I'll take some chaos in government at this juncture. The Blue Blob needs a bit of agitating.
Your comments suggest you *want* bad things to happen, perhaps as vindication. Am I wrong?
