I have recently started to believe the Pledge of Allegiance should begin with “I pledge allegiance to the United States Constitution and to the Republic for which it is the foundation …”

To take it a ridiculous step further, if burning the flag is free speech then is burning the people who burned the flag also free speech? Of course, I am not serious about this.

We stopped having the right to own people some time ago. Can't burn something that isn't yours.

Whether or not the flag is yours and you burn it, doesn’t make it right. But I will vigorously defend your right to do it. There are plenty of other ways to prohibit it and many laws that do, such as burning in an area uncontained, etc… But some republicans, many republicans, are too easily sucked in and go for the red meat. Add to that their misunderstanding or complete lack of understanding of Constitutional rights. This is what the left does, try to pass laws based on emotions. Republicans, please stop falling into the trap and read the damn Constitution, idiots.

The flag-burning was a far lesser issue than lowering Old Glory and replacing it with the Palestinian flag. In what other country would such a brazen act be tolerated?

That there borders on treason or act of war. If an American tried that in any country (except maybe one or two woke ass ones) they would be imprisoned and/or executed.

Agreed.

You may burn your flag if you own it.

You may burn it where ever an open fire is permitted by law.

I believe any laws broken in process of burning the flag should be prosecuted. Laws broken should not be over looked as part of freedom of speech.

Glad you mentioned desecration of monuments, although most are public property. Vandals merely prove the value of property rights, as long as we have the courage to enforce them.
