One can only imagine how this piece of brilliance was received by the ignorant masses to which it was intended, and for whom it almost certainly provided balm and reassurance. Will they ever know the profound ignorance from which it was uttered? Probably not.

Sometimes it doesn't take that long to get a point across. I'm growing more and more conscious of article length these days (though many still come out north of my 800 word "ideal").

If it's any consolation Peter, I'm a fan of both. Sometimes I like the deep dive long reads, sometimes short and sweet.

Sometimes things need to be said, regardless of word length 😊

It just struck me that, when the pool from which you have to choose is filled with morons, morons will be chosen. Used to be the cream rose to the top - now it's the morons.

I guess morons weigh the same as ducks.

It's government. The smartest people rarely go into it, because the only way it could be considered a meritocracy is if the "merit" is how well you play the (dirty) game.

Cardona is 15th in line and is very unlikely to become president someday, and for that we all (the sane ones) say hallelujah!
