Bernie should ALWAYS be ashamed of himself.

Regarding the degree of atrocity, I too have some confusion there. What was the endgame? I fear we haven't seen it yet. When Qasem Soleimani was taken out, there was some suggestion that Iran was happy to look the other way (all while claiming outrage after/ forever) to rid itself of a loose cannon/ threat to its power. Could that be the same with Hamas? Could it be a trap to lure the bulk of forces into Gaza for some awful reason/ attack elsewhere?

Of course, many of these questions will answer themselves in due course, I guess, but I remain puzzled over that part. It could be just what it always is: an expression of the violent hate that animates the whole damn thing, but it seems calculated to some other purpose.

Either way, the time to end Hamas (and others but Hamas definitely) is now. As is the time to end 100% appeasement in the west of the insane-left who supports, enables, incubates, and funds this and equivalent insanities. Those on the left willing or capable to help should announce themselves.

I've been chewing over the "degree of atrocity" question.

On the one hand, it is guaranteed to harden Israel against any sort of two state solution. But, if you factor in the rejection of a two state outcome from the Palestinian side, then that removes that hardening from the equation.

It could be a desire to drive Israel to retaliate hard, and thus tip the Arab world, which has been normalizing relations with Israel, away.

It could be a simple, motivating blood lust, intended to build Palestinian morale.

Or, it could be that the leadership didn't realize the monsters they set forth.

Thank you Peter, thank you! I can feel your indignation at the utter stupidity, stripped bare, of the loud mouth narcissists.

Those who ironically, would be the 'first ones up against the wall" (hitchhiker Guide) as far as Hamas is concerned. Totally oblvious to the fact that, as 2-3 syllables would drool out the mouths of the bileious left, only to be puncutated by a 7.62 exclamation mark.

It was inevitable a moment like this, televised in living color 7/24; would surface the woke-snakes who coil about their webcams to hiss their lies ( image of Kaa/Jungle Book) cajoling others sufficently to get a really good bite on reality, swallowing it whole.

The s**storm they've been inviting for so long, at least in part has descended, loudmouth 20-somethings find jobs ripped from their grasp, exceptionally compromise higher learning gets a comeuppance they won't soon forget.

Sadly, most of the country has HAD IT, confidence after the past few years of internal division puts distrust at an all time high.

This may be a rallying cry to focus 1/2 the country, and even the media can't easily paint it bad-orange.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring

Bernie, like all communists, and especially Jewish communists, hates Jews, so that was unsurprising.

I give it two weeks before the usual suspects are back to bleating about the evil Israelis committing crimes against humanity on Palestinians, and the usual media suspects bleating it from the satellites. And finally, the attack last week was probably not the point, but the lure. We will see if that is the case when the IDF goes into Gaza.

Agreed. They may be temporarily cowed by everyone else's outrage but they won't budge one inch from their positions.

Thank you Peter, this is the column I have been waiting for. The degree of atrocity has shattered me, the degree of victim blaming, equivocating, and outright support for the savages is equally shattering.

Additional thoughts:

-This attack has virtually no downside for Hamas. Their young men got to run rampant, murdering those they hate, reveling in their base desires, and then become martyrs for their cause. Israel has no real choice but to respond with force, and the way Hamas operates guarantees civilian deaths. Those deaths will be used as moral currency and propaganda on the international stage for decades to come.

-In the US, it should now be clear to all that BLM and their "colonizer/colonized" framework for viewing the world should be entirely repudiated. Numerous BLM supporters have echoed the sentiment, "What did you think decolonization looks like?" Apparently it looks like ethnic sectarian violence. No thanks, pack that up and stuff it.
