This is the basic premise of Douglas Murray’s The Strange Death of Europe.
People get what they vote for. Time to start voting differently. Made more difficult by the fact that now approx 1/4 of the adult population is sympathetic to “the problem”.
Mark Steyn covered this two decades ago in America Alone. The disparate birth rates between the natives and the immigrants is a "long-game" power shift. There's a reason that the dominant religions in the world preach big families and lots of breeding - they think across generations.
The glint of silver lining is that at least some Western cultures prove to be alluring enough for a subset of the migrants that they work to assimilate instead of heeding the progs' multicultural exhortations.
I wrote this nine years ago. Your comment prompted my recollection, thanks. Just resurrected it to append to the article.
“Multiculturalism and other progressive "-isms" are rooted in the notion that there is no "better" or "worse," only "different." This is nonsense. Liberty is better than slavery. Individual rights are better than Marxist philosophy. Life is better than death. Some forms of government are horrific, murderous, and impoverishing, while others are merely annoying. The American Experiment spawned countless emulations, while the "progressive" forms that sought to go beyond capitalism killed over a hundred million and sank billions into misery. Relativism is bullshit, and the -isms that derive from it are similarly bankrupt.“
For those who constantly point to Sweden as a role model, this should be an awakening.
A homogeneous culture who accepts a significant influx; especially with drastically different views/ethics inevitably finds a conflicts typical in other lifeforms, the plant world is rife with the result of invading species co-opting terrain; impacting resident species.
(for those who would shout racist.. step off)
Humans are not different then any other lifeform on this small globe. Our intellect, in such situations does us little good, and hastens trouble. Respect between conflicting groups only finds negotiation when both sides have a grudging fear of the others resolve (and ability to enforce it)
Perhaps one day we will not need that 'backup' but that day is not today, and the 'global view' and elitist deniers simply complicate matters, causing collateral damage. They in fact unwittingly offer more leverage to the opposing side, delaying practical resolution.

God save the good folks of Sweden
