Human population growth is slowing, and despite UN projections, could likely hit its peak in 20-30 years (much sooner than UN forecasts of 50-60 years. Whenever and wherever societies modernize or become industrialized - and in the case of African and Asian societies, rapidly become post-industrial - population growth quickly ceases and then starts to decline. The rise of AI and robotics are simultaneously ushering in an era of increased wealth, productivity and longevity. These neoMalthusian WASABI and "anti-wealth" policies will only delay this transition and lead to greater and prolonged suffering. There's no limit to how big the pie can be - it's an awfully big universe out there. If only those demanding we stop growing the pie would get out of the way, Earth and all its inhabitants would prosper.
Indeed. The worst part is that the harm they want to inflict will impact the poor and those rising out of subsistence living first. But, some of them are actually OK with this. They are sociopathic monsters masquerading as "we care more than you do" types.
