I was having this conversation with a fellow member of “team” LGBTQIA+ recently. We both agreed that those subcultures are highly distinct. Perhaps all we have in common is a willingness to be open-minded about other people? But even that is not guaranteed. And one finds the same trait, open-mindedness, among many non-alphabet folks. And as one who lives among “Hispanics,” I damned well know the difference between a Salvadoran and a Mexican.

I didn't put it in the post, but I quickly learned the "pecking order" among our "hispanic" employees. As in, who thought they were better than who.

One thing that I see as a huge problem is the growing notion that the trans agenda is about 'erasing' the notion of sexual orientation, and replacing it with (something I heard recently) 'gender preference.'

A ' preference' implies a choice, and the gay and lesbian communities have fought for decades or longer against the assertion that orientation is a choice. It's horseshoe theory - social conservatives and trans activists having a meeting of the minds, reality notwithstanding.

It is declining? Can you point me to a source?
