The problem with codifying Roe legislatively, and I read somewhere the Dems tried 11 times to do so, is to what universal, one-size-fits-all national standard? While nothing short of "up till birth" will fly in certain blue states, while other states could not accept anything past first trimester. Well, that's essentially where we were under "just Roe". Different states imposed different restrictions. The Dobbs decision signaled, if nothing else, the courts were done with it and sent the whole process back to the states. This is the historic truth of the matter, and no Democrat spin will change that fact. And if the 2024 election results proved one thing on the matter, it's that the people have largely figured out what Dobbs means. And that's a good thing and it happened a lot faster than I would have thought possible. But chalk that up to "overreach" on both sides at the state level - neither side could help themselves as they reached for the maximum, too soon. It's playing out and will be generational in resolving - at the state level. But nationally? It's a dead issue. As it should always have been.
Yep. I do believe that they "tried" several times knowing it would go nowhere. In other words, performative.
I don't think it's a dead issue, though. Abortion is still hot stuff in Dem circles, and will be used to drive both fundraising and votes ad infinitum.
So many great points. It’s frustrating and somewhat scary how much power the executive branch has exercised for the last 20 years. No matter who I’m supporting I’m supporting less government by EO!
Excellent article. I was thinking of penning something along those lines, but you beat me to it. But, I must ask: where did you get that ping-pong photo? Did you just search and download it, or did you "compose" it?
Hear, hear.

No more checks and balances. It reminds me of Geeece everytime a new political party comes into power.

I used one of the free AI image generators to make it.
