How the Ukraine invasion turns out is anybody's guess, given that the puppet master in all this is a sociopathic megalomaniac whose connection to common sense or reality is unknown.
As I noted on FB, I don't believe the term "puppet" is appropriate for our relation with China. Certainly, China is a rival state, engaging in provocative actions and machinations, but a "puppet" is under control of the puppeteer. China can influence us with her actions, just as we can influence her with ours, but neither is under the others control.
Putin, on the other hand... if Russia's economy becomes deeply dependent on China, he will be "manageable."
