Well said. This is in essence the thesis of Douglas Murray’s War In The West. It’s disingenuous to insist that only Western European powers engaged in this, c. Middle Ages to present.
For many of these people, the word is the thing. "Colonialism" is a great example.
In London, the cabbies refer to "The Knowledge" - an individual's accumulated database of the streets - required by law - as a discriminator between themselves and all other drivers. The Woke have the same sort of thing going with their words and phrases. In using certain terms in the appropriate manner, they identify themselves as belonging to the 'in' group. Kinda like Masons have their secret handshakes and all that. But they do it to preen for each other and for the public at large.
I once had someone use the phrase "colonial attitude," at me, as if those two words sufficed to rebut the point I made or the opinion I offered... or for that matter, the sum total of my being. It's great for echo chambers, where people sit around grousing about how everyone else sucks, but the phrase does not substitute for real understanding, and instead hides the shallowness of the viewpoint.
The Left loves its language games, and because the rest of us catch up and call out, they have to constantly "move forward" with new ones, like sharks.
This fixation on tearing down White European Colonialism is just racism. But try telling them that :).
Inducing self-loathing among the successful (and that can be anybody) is a Marxist trope - a "Jedi mind trick" intended to divide us while disqualifying your success and nothing more. Aside from actual human traffickers, which are a real thing today, none of us are guilty of slavery and oppression.

I wish I could make this argument as well as you have done here. I’ve tried, but fallen far short with friends and family. Hats off!
Send them my way :)
I have shared a few of your articles with them, including this one!😊
