Hot on the heels of Biden's blanket pardon for his son (if you were even slightly shocked that Joe broke his promise, you really should have known better) comes a trial balloon about preemptively pardoning "those in Trumps crosshairs."
Biden’s aides are deeply concerned about a range of current and former officials who could find themselves facing inquiries and even indictments
carefully weighing the extraordinary step of handing out blanket pardons to those who’ve committed no crimes.
If you've committed no crimes, why would you need a pardon?
Democrats have proven to be masters of psychological projection, warning us to expect behaviors from the other team that they themselves have either engaged in or fantasized and fetishized. Lawfare has been their stock in trade, so now they figure that, in the wake of their epic wipeout (a wipeout of their own making), they're going to get what they gave.
Thing is, "lawfare" is unjust or excessive prosecution, not proper investigation of committers of misdeeds. Should Anthony Fauci get a preemptive pardon so that he won't have to answer for his lies? How about the 51 experts who avowed that the Hunter Biden laptop was fake even though everyone knew it was real?
The irony runs deep:
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) invoked Hunter Biden’s pardon this week in calling on the president to, on a case-by-case basis, spare “the working-class Americans in the federal prison system whose lives have been ruined by unjustly aggressive prosecutions for nonviolent offenses.”
While I found the January 6th riot inexcusable, I also look at the aggressiveness of prosecution of people who clearly just got caught up in a mob mentality and wonder if Jeffries has any clue how he sounds. Nothing exemplifies selective prosecution as much as those in contrast to the countless BLM and related protests.
Biden and the Democrats, we were told, were the people to restore normalcy, morality, and propriety to the nation's political sandbox.
What a [redacted] joke.
Once again, we witness a tale of two nations: those on the inside, and those on the outside. The insiders, having nothing to lose at this point and not caring one whit about the "normalcy, morality, and propriety" bit they've been peddling - or about the stains they might leave behind - are scurrying like rats. Desperate to avoid being exposed as the frauds they are and to avoid being held accountable for their misdeeds, they seek to abuse the power of the pardon.
We the outsiders need transparency. We need those who lied about the origins of COVID-19 exposed and held responsible, so that such disasters might better be avoided in the future. We need those who lied about and covered up the countless dirty deeds to be similarly subject to the disinfectant of sunlight.
This pretense of pardoning people for crimes they didn't commit hides the sordid likelihood that they did commit actionable offenses. That there is some "there" there, and if any shred of public faith is to be restored, the Faucis of this administration need their comeuppance.
The essence of leftism is "the public is too stupid to know what's good for them, so we must manage them, by any means necessary." The message of preemptive pardons is that "Trump can't be trusted, so we have to break the public's trust."
Is it any wonder Trump won?
A footnote. There is a mad scramble these days to lock in spending and regulation ahead of Trump’s inauguration and whatever deregulatory and cost-cutting measures his administration might try to pursue. This is a giant middle finger to the voters who voted for less government, and is once again emblematic of the contempt the bureaucrats have for the unwashed masses.
Here is one of many examples.
It becomes clearer by the day that much of DC must be burned to the ground. There is so much corruption burrowed into virtually every agency that modest changes will never have the necessary impact. Fire them all 🔥🔥🔥
So sad and such a tremendous waste, this govt of ours. Fauci deserves no less than prison. Period. The powers that be have successfully done away with justice.
