I can see that Trump's hand was forced with the J6 pardons. He followed Biden's blanket pardons of the committee, and all of the officers, including the one that murdered Ashli Babbet.

Not sure I see that.

The Executive Orders have gotten out of hand. With that said, President Trump and his team worked their asses off to be fully prepared to take office and make some very important changes.

It's not how government should run, though. Every president since at least GWB has overdone it with EOs, and that's Congress's fault for not doing its own job.

Totally agree. It’s time for reform. No President should have that much single handed authority. It could result in some serious consequences for everyone’s liberty and freedom.

So the big question is: how can Congress be persuaded to do their job?

Why the EO on off shore wind power leases? I’m all for drill baby, drill, but why not “spin baby, spin” if it’s viable in the marketplace? Aren’t the leases a source of government revenue, not a subsidy?

There are questions regarding environmental damage, including to whales.

But, I also believe that there are still big subsidies in play for those windmills.

Looking forward to your future thoughts on these EOs. On the birthright citizenship EO I'm mixed. I do think it should go to the Supremes to be put to rest, end or keep, once and for all

I haven't read Sun Tzu and my chess game doesn't go beyond level 1 so at this point, even if I think things are a good idea or a bad idea I'm going to wait a bit and see how things go before I start celebrating or commiserating!

If you're going to change the 14th Ammendment then do it with a new ammended law.

Agreed - but rather than create a new law, I think the 14th requires clarification [by Congress; not by the courts] and amending. Looking at Reconstruction writings inre the 14th, "not owing a foreign allegiance" indicates intent. Interesting times!

Not everyone agrees that birthright citizenship should be ended, or substantially pared. That's the first debate to be had, and it needs to be had apart from the migrant mess. Two separate issues.

Yeah, but... My point was that the 14th was not designed to confer citizenship on any accidental birth of a foreign national on U.S. soil. Birthright citizenship became de facto by usage. One way or the other, the 14th needs clarification by Congress.
