The fact that none in leadership and few who scream "green" are even willing to consider nuclear shows they're not serious and that the climate cult is just that - a cult. It is not, as you said, about science; it is about power and OPM.
I think a lot of people have an almost biblical fear of nuclear power, seeing radiation and mushroom clouds as divine retribution for tapping into the forbidden fundamental power source of the universe.
What got me thinking biblical is that an "atomic priesthood" has been one of the proposals to make sure that future civilizations are aware of buried nuclear waste that might still be "hot" after thousands of years.
Apparently the technology is there to reuse it. There’s enough for a thousand years of running nuke plats. A guy surveying for a gas pipeline told us. He seemed to know...
I hear you there. How interesting you worked on that. Political will is the hardest. As you know I hate renewables. They ruin so much, for what? They aren’t efficient and can’t pull the base load, especially in extreme weather events.
480 acre solar facility two miles from me; got a certified letter yesterday: a 900-acre solar facility (2,145 total acres, 900 acres of panels) might be built less than a mile from me. We are FIGHTING this.

Never thought of it as biblical. Definitely irrational, and the product of grossly irresponsible fear-mongering by the ignorant press.

That "hot" fuel will, in any sane future, be recovered and reused. We currently ban reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel.

Oh for sure. There's also technology that would make it radioactive for tens of years rather than thousands. I worked on that back in the 90s.
We have all the answers at hand. Nuclear is just a matter of political will.

Just remember, more people died at Chappaquiddick than at Three Mile Island ...
Something tells me they don't want us to have cheap abundant clean electricity.
