Editor’s Note: I wrote this and published it at The Roots of Liberty July 2017, as a lament of the abandonment of melting-pot integration in favor of orchestrated divisiveness.
AncestryDNA says I am 51% Swede, 17% Norwegian, 2% Finnish, with remainder a mix of British nationalities. My Swedish heritage was emphasized growing up.. THEN, I recently found out that during WW II, the King of Sweden was a Nazi sympathizer, and allowed German troops to transit Sweden to attack Norway from its flank. Also, the Swedes prevented British and French troops from aiding Finland when the Russkies invaded in 1939!😡
“One might think that the advocates of diversity and multiculturalism would celebrate the sharing of our different origins. One might think that getting to know the back stories of new acquaintances is a Good Thing. One might contemplate the proliferation of DNA testing companies such as Ancestry and 23andMe as a sign that people are curious about ethnic history and origins. But, thanks to scolds and busybodies, we've turned into an walking-on-eggshells culture where people often feel at risk of eternal damnation for committing the slightest social faux pas or uttering a harmless but ill-received turn of phrase.“
By the way… by Ancestry says I am all British, Scottish and Irish.
I receive updates every now and again. I think the last one was six months ago or so, with only minor changes. Just finished season 6 of Peaky Blinders and was shocked how popular the British Nazi Mosley was.
I wish that question wasn't so off limits. I have many immigrant coworkers and would be interested to hear where they're from originally. Though, I'd feel awkward doing it, so I don't ask. But if it were a thing I could probably drum up the courage to ask
It really tells us how corroded our society has become. When just about everything has to be filtered against those who'd aggressively misinterpret to presume intentional slight, we can't have normal conversations and we default to looking at each other with distrust.
For some reason your reply email went to my spam folder instead of my inbox. So, sorry for the late reply :) Agree wholeheartedly
(Side note: substack does give notifications here, but I never check them because it goes to email too. No sense checking something twice, though in this case, I guess I should have, ha!)

When was the last time you checked it? Mine has varied a bit since I first sent in the samples. Oh, and 23andMe tells a slightly different tale.
