Man! You are “singing my song” today! While I am a staunch Second Amendment fan, I also treasure and value property rights, and hold them in very high regard.
Meanwhile, NYC's new mayor voiced grave concern yesterday that the Court might allow open carry in the city. Not what's being decided, so it's a bit weird, but the Left is getting preemptively ready for another loss.
Peter, “the Devil is in the details” and you take the Devil head-on! Again, you write so well and elucidate the issues beautifully! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
Most of the employers I know and businesses I frequent ban weapons on premises - even where I work, which is owned by a staunch right-winger and gun owner. Why? Insurance companies believe "guns on the premises = murder = liability". So they put the sticker on the door and put the policy in writing, or get refused liability insurance. SO! A new fight for us!
That's an unfortunate part of all this. We shouldn't coerce insurers to insure (thought government does so all the time). Imperfect results, but there is no perfection.
Lots of discussion about liberties (which I term as freedoms of an individual) and rights (which I attach to groups vis-a-vis 14th amendment). Very little about the implied responsibilities, which I gather is something libertarians tend to discount, imho.
Too late to ponder but it bears some discussion, sometime, and could figure into the conflicting rights equation.

Why would you gather that libertarians tend to discount responsibilities?
